choosing to be vulnerable in the pursuit of love is brave. opening yourself up to love and asking for the same love in return is brave. and the fact that they couldn’t measure up to your level of affection doesn’t diminish that bravery. and it doesn’t diminish the value or the beauty of your love. it just leaves you free to find someone who will love you the way you deserve.
learn from your regrets rather than letting them stop you from moving forward. you don’t have to stay frozen in that moment of a mistake already made.
i remember thinking that the only way to be loved was if i reinvented myself to be desirable. as it turns out, the person whose love i was seeking in the first place was myself, and the most desirable version of myself i could think of was a person who's happy, so i'm working on that instead.
ultimately, healing is work, and healing is not easy and, most importantly, healing is forever worth it
